Evolving Further as a Trusted Partner

The TAIYO YUDEN Group continually strives to become a company trusted by all stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, employees and local communities. We aspire to be an excellent company as viewed by our shareholders through enhancing enterprise value, to be recognized as a strategic partner by our customers and to become a company in which employees take pride, and which earns public respect. The TAIYO YUDEN Group is constantly working to ensure that all companies under our worldwide enterprise remain steadfast and focused as a cohesive whole in realizing this aspiration.

The TAIYO YUDEN Group develops "green products" as the foundation of our business activities. We are eliminating harmful substances, minimizing energy consumption and reducing harmful emissions in all of our processes, from production to the delivery of our products. We pay close attention to improving occupational health and safety as well as product quality. We manufacture products that are environmentally friendly in every aspect of our business activities. In terms of R&D activity, which is the foundation for us to create green products, we have built a wide range of technologies, experiences and know-how over many years. By leveraging these strengths, we deliver quality products to meet market demand requirements, shipping on time and selling at fair prices. At the same time, we actively propose new ideas towards the development of future products needed to meet ever-changing market requirements. Our commitment as the TAIYO YUDEN Group is to continually implement such activities with the objective of being an enterprise trusted by our stakeholders.

Future Expansion and Strategic Topics

In the electronics environment surrounding the products produced by the TAIYO YUDEN Group, the boundaries between information equipment (such as PCs), communication equipment (such as smartphones) and consumer products (such as TVs) have essentially disappeared. In addition, electronics systems used in automobile and energy applications are moving forward at a fast pace. The TAIYO YUDEN Group will continue as an enterprise to support dynamic market changes such as these by offering state-of-the-art electronic components. We are developing a more balanced approach for our profit structure, which was previously focused on capacitors.

A key initiative needed to expand our new product offerings and business opportunities is the essential ability to make precise proposals putting TAIYO YUDEN at the uppermost point in our customer’s development process, which positions us as a strategic partner to our customers. TAIYO YUDEN will strive to meet our customers’ expectations and demands by placing field application engineers around the world to provide development support and leading technological solutions to the market.

We will continue to do our best to speed up management decision-making, the foundation of these initiatives, and create an environment in which employees can work to their full potential. Our aim is to transform the TAIYO YUDEN Group into a corporate group full of creativity and foresight, making these values inherent in our DNA, with the objective to get as close as possible to the targets of the Mid-term Management Plan.

New Management Structure

TAIYO YUDEN shifted to a new management structure pursuant to a resolution of the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders and the Board of Directors held on June 29, 2011. Yoshiro Kanzaki was appointed Chairman and Representative Director (formerly President and Chief Executive Officer) and Eiji Watanuki was appointed President and Representative Director (formerly Director and Executive Operating Officer). The objectives of this reorganization are to further improve management efficiency and accelerate business development. We ask for the continued support of our shareholders and investors from a long-term perspective.
