What are Tactile Functions?
Tactile functions can be broadly classified into "notification" through vibrations, "force feedback" through the reaction force, and "tactile perception" through the frictional force. Currently, "notification" and "force feedback" have been practically implemented, but "tactile perception" is under development.
Tactile technology: basic principles of providing a feeling to a panel
When a piezoelectric actuator is driven at an ultrasonic frequency, the standing waves on the surface of the panel are excited. When the panel is touched in that state, the dynamic friction changes, and a "rough feeling" can be felt.
Paste Piezoelectric Actuators to both ends on the rear of the panel.
Drive at an ultrasonic frequency to excite the standing waves on the surface of the panel.
When you touch the panel surface with a finger, a rough feeling can be felt.
This tactile sensation changes according to the amplitude, etc. of the standing waves.
