We completed our soil and ground water contamination surveys and made clean-up efforts following Japanese Ministry of the Environment guidelines in FY2003. Since then, we conduct these surveys whenever we tear down a building. No surveys were conducted in FY2010.

Environmental Accident Occurrences
In June 2010, the wastewater processing path pump at the Tamamura Plant broke down. An alarm activated and emergency measures were taken immediately, but a small amount of wastewater (not containing any hazardous substances) went into the side gutter for rainwater and drained outside of the premises, making it an environmental accident. We voluntarily reported the conditions of the accident and the measures taken to the local government office and confirmed at the site that the effluent standard had not been exceeded and that there was no river pollution as a consequence.
