TAIYO YUDEN group would like to express our sincere condolences for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011.
We hereby would like to inform you about our damage situation related to the Great East Japan Earthquake.
As for That’s Fukushima Co., LTD., our production site of recording media products, restored the production facilities and restarted the production of CD-R and DVD-R. However, the operation is temporarily stopped due to the earthquake occurred in the midnight of April 7 and inspection and adjustment of the facilities have been implemented. It is scheduled to restart the operation in order, as soon as the inspection and adjustment are completed.
Tokyo Power Electric Company has not carried out their planned outages since March 28 and they have announced that they will not implement them until June 3. Our production sites in the areas of the planned outages will be shifting to regular operations, taking electricity situation into account. On the other hand, the production sites in the coverage areas of Tohoku Power Electric Company continue their regular operations since the planned outages have been scheduled but yet to be implemented.
