TAIYO YUDEN's MSCI ESG Rating Upgraded to "AA"

TOKYO, January 23, 2025 - TAIYO YUDEN CO., LTD. has had its MSCI ESG rating upgraded to "AA." MSCI ESG ratings are given to companies on a seven-point scale, from "AAA" (the highest) to "CCC," based on analysis of their management of environment (E), social (S) and governance (G) risks.
In the latest MSCI ESG ratings update, TAIYO YUDEN received its first AA rating in recognition of its measures regarding both the controversial sourcing and labor management.
In its Medium-term Management Plan 2025, the TAIYO YUDEN Group aims to enhance its corporate value through the combination of economic and social value and includes ESG measures in its materiality (key issues). Specifically, the Group has been conducting ESG activities for a range of targets, including the reduction of GHG emissions, water use and waste generation, the establishment of safe and secure workplaces, work style reforms, and diversity promotion.
TAIYO YUDEN is also included as a constituent stock in all six ESG indices for Japanese equities selected by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), such as the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index and the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index.
Going forward, the TAIYO YUDEN Group will continue to contribute to the sustainable society and further increase its corporate value.
